My Top 10 Favorite...
Saturday Night Live Movies
Well, this list is not really going to be a Top 10, because I have only seen 9 of the 10 SNL spinoff movies. Also I don't like them all, so I'm ranking them from best to worst (in my opinion).
1. THE BLUES BROTHERS - The first and the best. The Blues Brothers is one of my favorite comedy's of all time. Hilarious.
2. WAYNE'S WORLD - This movie was pretty funny, I remember liking it a lot when I was in high school.
3. A NIGHT AT THE ROXBURY - This is one case where I think the movie was actually better than the sketch. It was a surprise to me that they were able to expand on the characters as much as they did.
4. WAYNE'S WORLD 2 - This isn't much different than the first. Still pretty funny though.
5. THE LADIES MAN - Some very funny moments, not quite enough to sustain an entire movie, but worth watching if you are a fan.
6. THE CONEHEADS - I always thought it was a strange that this came out in the early 90's, so many years after it was on SNL. From what I remember there were a few laughs, but this was a pretty mediocre attempt.
7. STUART SAVES HIS FAMILY - This may acutally be tied with Coneheads, I liked them about the same. I guess I could say they are neither good nor bad.
8. SUPERSTAR - I can't really say anything good about this except I liked Will Ferrell as Jesus (or whatever he supposed to be). I'm surprised they couldn't have come up with a better script for this character.
9. BLUES BROTHERS 2000 - I truly hate this movie and wish it had never been made. The first segmant where Elwood is waiting for Jake to pick him up from the prison could have been a poignant short film, but it should have never gone past that.
I have not yet brought myself to watch It's Pat. Maybe someday I will.
