April DVD/Video Pick of the Month:

THE HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL

Starring: Geoffrey Rush, Taye Diggs, Famke Jannsen & Chris Kattan

Well, this movie is not really that good, but it is worth a rental. The best thing about it is that it doesn't take itself too seriously. It is visually much more inventive than The Haunting, which was based on the same story, and came out around the same time. The story basically involves a group of people who are stuck in a scary house all night. There are a couple of genuinly scary moments, as well a few humorous ones. Geoffrey Rush and Chris Kattan are particularly enjoyable in their repective roles.

The DVD has a few special features including commentary from the director, a making of documentary which compares this film with the 1958 original & a couple trailers. Check it out if you're looking for something just for fun.
