June DVD/Video Pick of the Month:

BOTTLE ROCKET

Starring: Owen Wilson, Luke Wilson, Robert Musgrave & James Caan

I always have a hard time coming up with words to describe Bottle Rocket. If you are looking for it at the video store you will most likely find it in the "Action/Adventure" section, but this label really doesn't fit. There is some adventure and maybe a little action, but this movie is really a funny, drama, character study, if that makes sense.

Bottle Rocket is the first movie from Wes Anderson, who co-wrote it with Owen Wilson. If you liked The Royal Tennebaums and/or Rushmore and you haven't seen this, you should really check it out. To briefly describe the story, it is about three friends who are looking for something in their lives. None of them really seem to know what they are looking for, and think a life of crime may be the answer. Don't let their misguided thoughts fool you though, this is not a crime gone wrong movie. I will never be able to fully describe what it's about, so check it out, you won't regret it.

There are no features on the DVD (I hope there will be a special edition someday) but this movie is worth watching on its own, no special features are needed.
