THE BEST OF CHRIS KATTAN - My ThoughtsI thought this was pretty good. There were a few things I had neer seen. One sketch I was particularly glad about was the Zimmeran's Halloween party. This is one of my favorite recurring character sketches and this one is left off the Comedy Central 60 min. version, so I had never seen it. I was kind of surprised they went with what I assume was the first appearance of the Roxbury guys (I wasn't watching the show as much back then, so things I'm not completey familiar with) as their only representation. This sketch was really short, didn't have the regular song, and Will Ferrell didn't quite have the dancing down yet. I was kind of expecting to see a more updated version later on in the show. Some other glaring omissions - There was no Al Pacino, David Gest or Terrible Re-enactments, these really could have been done in a quick montage or something. Also I was really expecting to see the baseball player one, where he is a little kid and all the baseball players come into his room. I'm sure there are a lot of examples of what could have been on there though. I am hoping if and when there is a DVD release it will have the same special features as the Will Ferrell, so we can see some outtakes, a cut dreass rehearsal and possibly some of his audition. |
