Revenge...political bias?

I saw Revenge of the Sith last weekend. I was feeling a little trepidation because of the supposed political bias. I have to say that I didn't think the movie as a whole had some anti-Bush agenda. Yes, there are lines here and there that could be construed that way, but it never really arrives at a specific point.

So anyway, I am working on my actual review of the movie, which will be posted soon.

Revenge of the Sith...

One one more thought on this (before I see the movie)...

Why is this movie called Revenge of the Sith? What are they getting revenge for, the death of Darth Maul? The Sith have not really suffered greatly in the first 2 movies. Obviously George Lucas is making up for changing Revenge to Return for episode 6.

Of course using Revenge in the title for episode 6 would have made logical sense, because the Jedi really did have something to come back from. However, Return of the Jedi does actually make more sense, considering what actually happens in the movie (and Jedi aren't supposed to seek revenge). In my opinion it was a good choice to change the title.

Maybe after I see episode 3 I will also think Revenge of the Sith is appropriate. So far however, it seems these movies are just a way for George Lucas to go back and change whatever he now does not like about the originals.

Darth Bush???

Well my last post was about the release of the "original" Star Wars trilogy, so it seems only fitting that the return of Cinema Lowdown should be about the 3rd and (hopefully) final installment of the franchise.

I haven't seen it yet, so I won't talk too much about it - but I just wanted to say that I hope all the talk about political commentary in the movie is overblown.

I'm hoping Lucas is just going along with the tumultuous political climate by even insinuating there is anything in this movie directly related to the current situation in Iraq. I know the movies might reflect some current themes, but I just don't want anything that's too close of a reference. Talk about instantly dating a movie.

I will hopefully see it this weekend.
