The number one movie at the box office this weekend was Bad Boys II. Coming in 2nd with only a 27% drop was Pirates of the Caribbean. According to Box Office Mojo Pirates of the Caribbean has the 21st largest 2nd weekend. I am wondering who really cares about that!? Frankly I am getting tired of the box office records. Every weekend it's something different, who really cares. The movie marketplace is not what it used to be even five years ago, so what difference do these records really make. What matters to me is if I will even be thinking about a movie two weeks later.


I can't believe how few movies I have seen this summer. It's not just because I have less time than I used to, it's because I really haven't wanted to see anything. I guess the excitement might be gone. Maybe I have just seen too many movies now, maybe too many bad or disappointing movies. Maybe it's because going to the theater is not the enjoyable experience it used to be. At any rate I am still hopefull of seeing something I really truly like in the near future.
