More on T3....
Just a couple more things on T3....Possible spoilers, I'm not really going to give anything too big away, but if you don't want to know too much, I would wait to read this.
Knowing going in that there was not too much more they could do with the story, I thought they were still able to make this one pretty interesting. We all already know the basics, one terminator is sent back to protect John Connor and one is sent back to kill him. I liked the twist they added with the "No fate..." poem from the first two movies. At first I thought it would just be them trying to stop judgement day again. Luckily the story moves beyond that.
I also had mixed feelings, going in, about getting a different actor to play John Connor. I don't particularly like Eddie Furlong, but it sometimes is hard to think of someone as the same character when they are a completely different person. I did like Nick Stahl in this though. I decided to watch the DVD of the first Terminator when I got home and I was surprised at how much Stahl looks like Michael Biehn. However, though I like him, it was still hard to think of him as the John Connor from T2. I just kind of had to separate myself from that and look at this as its own thing.
Also missing from the movie was the Sarah Connor character. It is unfortunate she is not in it as she was really the identifying character in the first two. The John Connor character just doesn't have the same presence she did. Don't get me wrong. I am not changing my mind about liking the movie, I'm just pointing out a couple things. I still think the movie was a lot of fun, and did not turn out to be the embarrassment I thought it was going to be.
