HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!!!

Hope everyone is having a good holiday. The big movie this weekend is of course T3. I am planning to see it tomorrow, so I should have a post about it then.

To get caught up here are the last couple of movies I saw:
In the theater - The Hulk
The Hulk was one of my most disappointing movies in a while, and I wasn't even expecting all that much. I just thought it was really boring. The CG Hulk was ok, but I guess I'm not really in to that. I'd rather have a good (fun, entertaining etc.) story with less impressive special effects, given the choice. I would especially advise anyone planning to take young kids to think twice. This movie is 2 1/2 hours with previews and we don't even see the Hulk for quite some time. There is not much to keep young kids (or anyone else in my opinion) entertained. The audience I saw it with seemed pretty restless.

On DVD - The Mission
The Mission stars Robert DeNiro and Jeremy Irons. I didn't know anything about this film before I saw it, but I was completely swept up in it once I started watching it. The story takes place in South America during the colonial times and revolves around some Jesuit priests who are trying to protect the native citizens. This may sound a little boring, but I assure you it is not. The performance in this film are excellent. This may be one of DeNiro's forgotten roles and it is well worth checking out.
